Everything you need to know about working with Zen Aerial Media. Can't find what you're looking for? Get in touch.
We specialise in professional drone aerial photography and videography across six service categories: Sport & Events, Real Estate, Construction, Commercial Media, Schools & Community, and Inspections & Mapping. We operate across Melbourne, Victoria, and Australia-wide on request.
Every project is unique, so we provide custom quotes based on project type, location, complexity, and deliverables. There are no hidden fees — after an initial conversation about your brief, we'll provide a transparent, no-obligation quote within 24 hours.
You'll work directly with Yoshi Yamamoto, the founder and CASA-certified Chief Remote Pilot. There are no account managers or junior operators — the person you speak to in the first conversation is the same person who will fly your project and deliver your content.
Yes. All operations are conducted under a CASA ReOC (Remote Operator Certificate) and full public liability insurance. Yoshi also holds a RePL (Remote Pilot Licence), AROC (Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate) for operations near controlled airspace, and a current Working With Children Check for shoots involving minors.
Not always. Drone operations depend on CASA airspace classifications, proximity to airports or helipads, local council or landowner permissions, weather conditions, and site safety. We check every location before the shoot and handle any required airspace authorisations — so you don't have to.
In many cases, yes. If the site is private property, school grounds, council land, parkland, or a managed venue, permission from the property owner or land manager may be required. We can assist with identifying what's needed, but final site permission may need to come from you or the venue organiser.
Safety is our priority. If conditions are unsuitable — high winds, rain, or low visibility — we will reschedule at no additional cost. We monitor conditions closely and will communicate with you well in advance of the shoot.
Turnaround times are agreed upon before the shoot. Typically, edited photos are delivered within 2–3 business days and video within 5–7 business days. Rush turnarounds can be arranged on request.
Yes. Yoshi holds an AROC (Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate), which allows communication with Air Traffic Control in controlled airspace. Operations near airports like Essendon (YMEN) require prior CASA airspace authorisation via OpenSky or AuthApp — we manage this process and factor it into your quote and timeline.
Yes. We welcome project requests from clients based in Japan and offer bilingual communication in English and Japanese. We can coordinate aerial filming services in Melbourne and across Victoria for media, commercial, and promotional projects on behalf of Japanese clients.
Collaborative, direct, and straightforward. You'll speak with the pilot from start to finish — no handoffs, no miscommunication. We take time to understand your brief and goals so the final content actually works for your project, and we'll keep you informed at every step.
